Reality Kings on Boxee!!

// February 16th, 2010 // 1 Comment » // BoXXXee News

Today we announce the release of the second in a new series of premium adult apps for the Boxee internet TV platform. We chose to bring Reality Kings, voted the web’s best adult site, to the Boxee platform.

Reality Kings Boxee App

Reality Kings Boxee App

This new app is available in the main Boxee repository and it not only allows you to use your existing Reality Kings membership to log in and view high quality, full-length scenes, but you can also sign up for a membership (which gets you access to not just the app, but all 28 Reality Kings niche sites) right inside the app, without ever leaving the comfort of your couch.

If you thought top-notch sites like InTheVIP, CumFiesta, and WeLiveTogether are hot on your computer screen, wait until you see them in HD in your living room!!

App features include:

  • Multiple updates per day, syncronized with Reality Kings’ online site (if it’s online, it’s in the app)
  • The ability to browse by date, rating, girl or niche site
  • Full-featured search functionality
  • EVERY SINGLE piece of content available on Reality Kings.
  • Viewers who are not members can still watch hot preview videos of every scene and every girl.

The new Reality Kings app, as well as our other BoXXXee apps are available to all Boxee users in the Boxee official repository. To enable adult content so that the apps will be visible in your App Box:

  1. Click “Settings” from the main menu in Boxee
  2. Click “Appearance”
  3. Click “View Options”
  4. Uncheck the box next to “Hide adult feeds and applications”
  5. Enjoy!

BoXXXee now available in main Boxee repository!

That’s right, BoXXXee is “officially official”.  The great people at Boxee, with the release of their latest software update have included both the original “BoXXXee”  and the “BoXXXee P.O.V” apps in the main Boxee repository.

“What does that mean,” you ask?

Well, that means that if you’ve got Boxee, you’ve got BoXXXee.  Boxee now has an adult filter, so you’ll need to enable adult content (instructions further down) to see the app in your App Box.  Those two apps, and another that we are developing especially for that repository are available instantly when you download and install Boxee.  We are continuing to develop apps and will be maintaining our own repository (add it to your app box, it’s: http://boxee.com/repository ) and we will be developing more niche apps that will be exclusively available from us.

For now, enjoy thousands of adult movies and great reality content from our two apps in the Boxee official repository.  To enable adult content so that the apps will be visible in your App Box:

  1. Click “Settings” from the main menu in Boxee
  2. Click “Appearance”
  3. Click “View Options”
  4. Uncheck the box next to “Hide adult feeds and applications”
  5. Enjoy!

Creating Your Own Boxee Repository

// May 25th, 2009 // 2 Comments » // Developer Blog

The “open-ness” of the Boxee platform is what, I believe, will ultimately make it wildly successful. The ability for content creators to instantly distribute their creations to monitors and TV sets around the world is a game changer. Unfortunately, installing a Boxee app manually is a task only a developer (or hardcore tech geek) would feel comfortable with. Surely, for those who are using Boxee free from any keyboard (maybe with the awesome iPhone remote app?) manually installing an app is impossible.

Fortunately, Boxee has a killer little feature called the App Box. Within the App Box, users can add “Repositories,” essentially directories that house third-party applications.  Once a repository is added, installing the apps from that repository is a one click process.  Developers can add additional apps and they’ll show up automatically in a viewer’s App Box as soon as they are available.  I love it!

What I don’t love, however, is the fact that the guys at Boxee have been lax over the past months in giving ANY documentation for creating repositories.  It took me hours of reverse engineering (and packet sniffing) to get mine up and running.  Instead of write out a long writeup of instructions, I’m just going to include a link to a demo repository I’ve created for those of you who are interested in doing one.

Simply unzip the file I’ve created into the root (or whatever directory) of your server, change the values, and you’re up and running.  I’ve even included two blank apps (one “skin” type and one “rss” type) in the file structure.

Download the file here!

Have fun and I’m happy to answer comments.

P.S. One thing to note.  When you edit the index.xml, index.php, and repository.xml files, there must be a blank line at the end (carriage return).  Otherwise Boxee will not read the files.  This screwed me up for days.  Keep it in mind.

The boXXee app has been released into the wild.  We’re still adding some finishing touches, but it’s out there if you already have Boxee and want to give it a try.

Features include:

  • Over 3500 full-length adult films, some over 4 hours long
  • Nearly 100 niche categories
  • Buffer-free playback
  • Instant seeking.  Fast forward or rewind through the whole movie at any time to find the scene you like
  • Compatibility with all operating systems  (Windows, Mac, AppleTV, and Linux)
  • Privacy Assured! Content watched in boXXXee will not be reported to the Boxee servers (put in your feed, sent to Twitter, etc) and it will not appear in your history.

We’re always looking for feedback, so if you have Boxee installed and you’d like to check out the app, simply add our repository in your App Box:

If you haven’t checked out Boxee yet, and you are on Mac or Linux, you really should check it out.  Visit them here.

If you are on Windows, Boxee is currently not offering their software for download, but we will be hosting the latest version here when we release boXXXee to the public.
